Without proper care, septic tanks can run into all kinds of problems. If you aren’t sure whether your septic tank needs to be looked at by our team of professionals here at Marion Pumper, here are some warning signs to watch out for:
- Foul odors—When you’re outside, how do things smell? If you notice a foul odor permeating throughout your yard, especially near where your septic tank is located, there’s a good chance that your septic tank is full.
- Slow drains—Not only are slow drains inconvenient, but they’re also a sign that there might be something wrong with your septic tank. If you’ve used drain cleaning products to try and clear up clogs, but you’re still experiencing slow drains and backups, it’s a good idea to have us come and take a look at things.
- Pooling water—Pooling water is one indication that your septic tank needs to be looked at. Keep in mind that this pooling water can show up at any spot in your yard, but it may be more prevalent in the area near the drain field.
Most problems with septic tanks can be prevented by doing a few simple things. For example, for our clients with septic tanks, we strongly encourage them to have their septic tank pumped out on a regular basis. If it’s been a while since you had your septic tank pumped, or you can’t remember the last time you had this service performed, give us a call right away to schedule a time for service.
